What makes NEBULA innovative is its main theme and objective of fostering, urban and rural restoration in a NEB perspective, the involvement modalities of young people (going from theoretical learning to hands-on activities) and the nonformal approach of resources like the knowledge-sharing platform, together with the strong stress on networking as learning and problem-solving tool.

NEBULA, exactly like the NEB initiative, wants to develop a creative, interdisciplinary initiative that takes the European Green Deal and makes it tangible for all the citizens and youth, becoming a tool to build a more sustainable, accessible, inclusive and beautiful Europe.

The interdisciplinary side of it kicks in when enrichment, inspired by ideas related with art and culture, meets with needs, functionality and sustainability; the goal is to promote regenerations projects balancing between such values and representing an opportunity to valorize urban/rural areas. All of this while being inclusive, facilitating a cross-dialogue among different cultures, disciplines and habits of people regardless their genders, ages or socio-economic disadvantages.

The innovation relies also on its three-stepped approach:

• First young people are inspired through the success stories of ventures which successfully conducted regenerations projects in their territories, with particular attention to those projects already implemented and awarded in the context of NEB;
• Then they are equipped with the competencies and skills needed to “emulate” the protagonists of those case-studies;
• And then they are invited to concretely submit their projects built upon their newly acquired expertise.

Finally, NEBULA is innovative because it aims at using an ad hoc built networking platform as a means to exchange experiences and, therefore, finding innovative solutions and seeing things under new perspectives, brought about by the meeting of enthusiastic young people with different backgrounds.
